 Growing Bodies,
Growing Minds…

5 Tips to Healthy Eating

and Physical Activity

  1. Start you day with breakfast.  Breakfast fills your "empty tank" to get you going after a long night without food. And it can help you do better in school.
  2. Get fit with friends and family! Encourage others to join you and plan one special physical activity event, like a bike ride or hiking, with a group each week
  3. Balance your food choices.  You don't have to give up foods like hamburgers, french fries and ice cream to eat healthfully. You just have to be smart about how often and how much of them you eat.
  4. Eat more grains, fruits, and vegetables. These foods give you carbohydrates for energy, plus vitamins, minerals and fiber.
  5. Snack Smart. Snacks are a great way to refuel. Choose snacks from different food groups.

Joke of the Month:

Why aren’t elephant’s allowed on the beach?

Because they let their trunks down!!! J

Future Inventors…

For the past week, the sixth graders have been involved in the FIH (Future Inventors of Hilltop).  Mr. Green, the high school science teacher at Super High, has been coming to our class every Tuesday and Thursday, guiding the sixth graders to become creative inventors.

Some of the projects invented include a new mode of transportation, a new light source, and a plant that contains all the vitamins and minerals a person needs.

Have a safe and happy weekend!
