My first student teaching experience was in a Pre-kindergarten Special Education classroom, specifically Speech and Language Impaired.  To encourage my students to talk and increase their vocabulary, I designed all my lessons with props, taught students to act out stories, treasured every moment to hold a discussion with a student, and expanded on their knowledge of a subject.
